The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is in the process of testing the Driver Education Program (DEP) application that will be used to collect driver education program information that was previously collected via hard copy forms. Please refer to Superintendent’s Memorandum No. 163-11, dated June 10, 2011, Attachment A (2010-2011 Driver Education Status Questionnaire) and Attachment B (2011-2012 Fee for the Laboratory Phase of Driver Education), and Superintendent’s Memorandum No. 212-11, dated August 5, 2011, Attachment A (2011-2012 Driver Education Program Approval Application) for details of information for 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 that will be collected via the new online application this year.
As with other VDOE online applications, any school division staff responsible for entering or reviewing data must have a login and password for SSWS. These individuals would include:
VDOE has taken the steps necessary for the SSWS Account Manager or Back-up Account Manager for your division to grant access to the system now. For each individual who will need access to the system, the SSWS Account Manager must ensure:
The Driver Education Program (DEP) system will be open for data entry by August 31, 2012. All information must be submitted to VDOE by September 30, 2012.
