Final Title IV, Part A: Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act (SDFSCA) Entitlements for the 2004-05 School Year Under Provisions of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, Public Law 107-110
The Virginia Department of Education has recently received final information from the U.S. Department of Education about the level of funding for the SDFSCA program.
Total Allocation to Virginia $8,174,905
Governors Office (20%) $1,634,981
Virginia Department of Education (80%) $6,539,924
Of the $6,539,924 allocated to the Department of Education, funds will be distributed as follows:
School Divisions $6,082,130
Department of Education $ 457,794
(Programs and Administration 7%)
Preliminary funding information was previously provided to school division coordinators as a part of their technical assistance workshop on April 28, 2004. The attached table provides a listing by school divisions of the final Title IV, Part A, entitlements. This information represents no changes from the preliminary estimates previously provided.
It should also be noted that all of these funds will be awarded on or after July 1, 2004. No supplemental awards will need to be made in October.
Applications for Title IV funding should be submitted between July 1 and July 30. Please refer to ADMINISTRATIVE SUPTS. MEMO NO. 17, May 21, 2004 for detailed information about submission of all federal program applications under Public Law 107-110, No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.
